Our Chai Tea is our most popular tea in our line, especially during these colder, fall months. One of the things that inhibits us drinking it all day every day is its caffeine content. Our decaf version provides all the warm, invigorating and spicy flavors without the boost of caffeine.
This can be brewed on its own as a caffeine free alternative to Chai, or you can do what many of our customers do and add it to the coffee or espresso grounds during the brewing process to “spice” things up a bit.
Tea Brewing Instructions: Use 1 teaspoon of Chai blend per cup of water. Put Chai blend in cold water and heat slowly until water comes to a boil. Add sweetener if desired and then low boil for another 5 to 10 minutes. Turn off the heat source and steep for an additional 15 minutes. Strain and add warm milk to taste.
To re-steep, add 1-2 minutes to the original steeping time. For each additional steep, continue to add 1-2 additional minutes until the flavor is exhausted.
Why choose loose leaf tea over tea bags?
Whole leaf or loose leaf tea provides the cup with more flavor, health benefits and aroma than commercial tea bags, which are often made up of tiny leaf bits and tea dust which has lost most of its flavor and antioxidants.
Often times, the paper tea bags collapse onto the tea preventing water from infusing every inch of the leaf- flavor is usually extracted after only one steep whereas loose leaf tea can be steeped multiple times for several cups of tea.
