Oregano is a member of the Labiatae family. The etymology is derived from oreganos, meaning "joy of the mountains." Oregano is native to the Mediterranean and is a perennial plant with a strong aromatic scent. Oregano essential oil contains flavonoids, a powerful anti-oxidant, and anti-inflammatory compound.

Oregano essential oil has strong antiviral properties, keeping infections and colds at bay. It also is an effective analgesic, meaning it reduces pain and discomfort associated with bruises, rheumatism, arthritis, ankylosis, insect bites and even toothache pain. Its exceptionally powerful anti-microbial properties aid in the prevention of infections and to eliminate fungi such as athlete's foot and lice infestation.

I had ear pain, and I am amazed at how quickly it works! I used a tiny amount on a drop of coconut oil and then rubbed it behind the ear, the pain went away almost inmediatelly, I felt a warm and numb sensation that allowed me to go back to sleep. Oh, and I loved the smell too!!! The only regret I have is that I got the sample size, but I will get the regular size bottle soon.

Advantages

I bought this oil some time ago & wondered why until I was Covid positive & read in my EO book that it may aid respiratory if used topically. Diluted with coconut oil & applied to chest & throat. It really eased the congestion

I had been warned by a friend about how powerful this oil is. Well as usual I went ahead and just used a couple drops in a huge cup of water and pow just opening the bottle filled the house with the fragrance and when attempting to drink was "hot". I then tried a few drops in spaghetti sauce still too powerful. This along with the garlic is a great way to add healthy nutrients to you food but be aware 1 drop will do you even in a fairly large volume you are adding it too.

Love love love the smell of oregano! If you want to use this for anything topical, don't ever forget to dilute it as it is a veryyyyy hot oil! I deliberately bought this to get rid of some skin tags and a mole, and I used it so carefully, but when I turned my neck the oregano (under a band aid) got onto my skin and it burnt so bad. Now I am covering the skin around it with aloe gel to prevent it from happening again.
