This is so much nicer smelling than the cedarwood atlas. Smelling this reminds me of opening the cedar lined hopechest my dad made for me. The cedarwood atlas has a distinct scent, that is for many much like smell of cat urine. Not altogether pleasant. However, the atlas when blended particularly with peppermint can be quite nice. I will have to research therapeutic benefits further, but on scent alone, texas wins by a country mile!

A nice clean aroma...I sometimes diffuse with lavender for a calming effect.

The Texas Cedarwood has a fresh and clean scent. I diffuse it in my house to enhance the aroma of the cedar lined living room. The smell is very calming. It is also good used in closets to keep out the spiders and moths. I put it on cottonballs and leave it in the corners of the closets. I also add this to my natural fly/bug repellant that I spray on my horses for trail riding . I mix a blend with a few other oils and it also helps to ward off ticks and therefor helps prevent the terrible lyme disease.
